Replacing the battery
The unit supports "hot swap" battery replacement, which allows you to replace the unit’s battery without turning the unit off.
See the Operating Instructions for information about replacing the battery.
IMPORTANT

Observe the following before hot swapping the battery.

Make sure the unit is not accessing the SD card

Make sure the unit is not accessing the SIM card

Do not remove the SD card or SIM card while hot swapping the battery.

Make sure you save any important data before hot swapping the battery.
•
Be sure to finish the battery replacement in 30 seconds. Otherwise, the unit may turn off. In this case, any data which has not been saved will be lost.
Note
•
The component that powers the unit while hot swapping the battery has a service life of approximately 5 to 10 years. If the amount of time that the unit remains powered while hot swapping becomes drastically reduced, contact your technical support representative.
