Replacing the battery
The unit supports "hot swap" battery replacement, which allows you to replace the unit’s battery without turning the unit off.
IMPORTANT

Observe the following before hot swapping the battery.

Make sure the unit is not accessing the SD card

Make sure the unit is not accessing the SIM card

Do not remove the SD card or SIM card while hot swapping the battery.
•
Make sure you save any important data before hot swapping the battery.
•
Before replacing the battery, either turn the unit off or follow the procedure for hot swapping.
Hot swapping the battery
1.
Press and hold (power button) until the power options menu is displayed.
2.
Tap [Battery hot swap].
3.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
4.
Replace the battery.

The component that powers the unit while hot swapping the battery has a service life of approximately 5 to 10 years*1. If the amount of time that the unit remains powered while hot swapping becomes drastically reduced, contact your technical support representative.

Service life is not guaranteed and may be reduced due to battery usage and storage environment, particularly in high temperature environments.
