Wi-Fi
You can use the unit to connect to a wireless LAN access point and access emails and the Internet. Wi-Fi-related settings are available by flicking the Start screen to the left, and then in the All apps list, tapping [Settings][Network & wireless][Wi-Fi].
Note
The Wi-Fi antenna is contained in the gray area indicated in the illustration below. Covering the area around the antenna with your hand may affect the signal quality.
Turning Wi-Fi on and off
1.
Flick the Start screen to the left, and then in the All apps list, tap [Settings][Network & wireless][Wi-Fi].
2.
Tap the [Wi-Fi networking] switch to turn it on or off.
Connecting to a Wi-Fi access point
1.
Flick the Start screen to the left, and then in the All apps list, tap [Settings][Network & wireless][Wi-Fi].
Make sure that the [Wi-Fi networking] switch is turned on.
2.
Select the desired network name.
If the desired network name is not displayed, you may need to enter the network name (SSID) manually. See Adding a network name (SSID) manually for more information.
3.
If you are connecting to a network with security protection, enter the password.
4.
Tap [Done].
Adding a network name (SSID) manually
1.
Flick the Start screen to the left, and then in the All apps list, tap [Settings][Network & wireless][Wi-Fi].
Make sure that the [Wi-Fi networking] switch is turned on.
2.
Tap [Manage].
3.
Tap , enter the network name (SSID), and then tap [Add].
4.
Enter the network’s security type and password, if required.
5.
Tap [Done].
Configuring a network (Static IP) manually
1.
Flick the Start screen to the left, and then in the All apps list, tap [Settings][Network & wireless][Wi-Fi].
Make sure that the [Wi-Fi networking] switch is turned on.
2.
Tap [Static IP].
3.
Tap the [Configure network settings manually] switch to turn it on.
4.
Enter necessary network settings, and then tap [Done].
5.
Turn the unit off, and then turn it on again.
The network settings will be enabled after restarting the unit.
