Hardware Diagnostic

If it appears that the hardware installed in this computer is not operating properly, you can use the "Hardware Diagnostic" to determine whether or not there is a problem. If the utility discovers a problem in the hardware, contact Panasonic Technical Support. Software cannot be checked using this utility.

Hardware that can be checked using the Hardware Diagnostic

  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth
  • <Only for model with wireless WAN>
    Wireless WAN (WWAN)
  • GPS
  • microSD memory card (External SD)
  • Touchscreen
  • Digitizer
  • LCD
  • Sound

Running the Hardware Diagnostic

  1. Touch Apps - [Hardware Diagnostic Hardware Diagnostic].
  2. Check Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, wireless WAN, GPS or microSD memory card:
    1. Touch the device name to add/remove a check mark.
      • Only checked devices will be checked.
      • To check the microSD memory card, insert a microSD memory card to the microSD memory card slot. Before checking, back up the necessary data in the microSD memory card.
    2. Touch [Run] to start.
      • During the check, the checking status is displayed.
    3. At the complete message, touch [Finish].
      The following icons are displayed at the left of the device name.
      • Apps: Passed
      • Apps: Failed
  3. Check the touchscreen:
    1. Touch [6. TouchScreen].
    2. Using your finger, touch and trace the screen to end in order.
    3. At the complete message, touch [Pass], [Fail] or [Retry].
    Check the digitizer:
    1. Touch [7. Digitizer].
    2. Using the digitizer pen, touch and trace the screen to in order.
    3. At the complete message, touch [Pass], [Fail] or [Retry].
    Check the LCD:
    1. Touch [8. LCD].
    2. Rotate the computer and check the screen is displayed as followings.
      • Portrait
        Portrait
      • Landscape
        Landscape
    3. Touch back or press Apps (Back button).
    4. At the complete message, touch [The color pattern was displayed correctly in portrait orientation.] and/or [The color pattern was displayed correctly in landscape orientation.] to add a check mark, and touch [OK].
    Check the speaker and microphone:
    1. Touch [9. Sound].
    2. Touch Record and speak to the microphone on the computer, then touch Stop.
    3. Touch Play to check the recorded sound.
    4. Touch [Done] or [Discard].
    5. At the complete message, touch [A sound came out from the speaker.] and/or [A sound was recorded through the microphone.] to add a check mark, and touch [OK].
  4. Touch back or press Apps (Back button) to exit the "Hardware Diagnostic".
NOTE
- To save or share the result, you can perform the following steps.
  1. After complete the check, touch Menu.
  2. To save the result, touch [Save test result to the internal storage].
    To share the result, touch [Attach test result to mail], then follow the on-screen instructions.
- You can check the system information by performing the following steps.
  1. On the "Hardware Diagnostic" screen, touch [System Information].
  2. Touch [OK] to exit "System Information" screen.
- You can check the system log by performing the following steps.
  1. On the "Hardware Diagnostic" screen, touch [System Log].
  2. Touch [OK] to exit System Log screen.
- You can check the past result of "Hardware Diagnostic" by performing the following steps.
  1. On the "Hardware Diagnostic" screen, touch [Result Viewer].
  2. Touch one of the result list to open and touch [OK].
  3. Touch back or press BACK button (Back button) to exit "Diagnostic Result" screen.
