Running hardware diagnostics
A result icon is displayed on the left of the diagnosed device.

Diagnosing with the automatic test
1.
Flick the Start screen to the left, and then in the All apps list, tap [Hardware Diagnostic].
2.
Turn on the checkbox by tapping the device name ([1. Wi-Fi], [2. Bluetooth], [3. WWAN] (certain models only), [4. GPS], [5. External SD], [6. Ethernet]) that you want to diagnose.
To diagnose a microSD card, insert the microSD card into the unit. Back up any important data in the microSD card before diagnosis.

Tap [Run][OK] to start diagnosis.
4.
When a message indicating that diagnosis is finished is displayed, tap [FINISH].
Diagnosing the touchscreen (single-touch)
1.
Flick the Start screen to the left, and then in the All apps list, tap [Hardware Diagnostic][7. Touchscreen (Single-touch)] → [Start].
2.
Touch with your finger and trace the screen in order to .
3.
When a message indicating that diagnosis is finished is displayed, tap [Pass], [Fail], or [Retry].
Diagnosing the touchscreen (multi-touch)
1.
Flick the Start screen to the left, and then in the All apps list, tap [Hardware Diagnostic][8. Touchscreen (Multi-touch)] → [Start].
2.
Touch the screen with 10 fingers.
3.
When you remove your fingers from the screen and a message indicating that diagnosis is finished is displayed, tap [Pass], [Fail], or [Retry].
Diagnosing the LCD
1.
Flick the Start screen to the left, and then in the All apps list, tap [Hardware Diagnostic] [9. LCD][Start].
2.
Check that the screen is displayed as follows.
3.
Press (Back button).
4.
When the confirmation item is displayed, tap the test result item to turn on the checkbox, and then tap [OK].
Diagnosing the sound
1.
Flick the Start screen to the left, and then in the All apps list, tap [Hardware Diagnostic] [10. Sound][Start].
2.
Tap , speak into the unit’s microphone, and then tap .
3.
Tap to check the recorded sound.
4.
Press (Back button).
5.
When the confirmation items are displayed, tap the test result items to turn on the checkboxes, and then tap [OK].
