Recovery Disc Creation Utility

You can make a recovery disc for Windows 7 Professional (32 bit or 64 bit).
The recovery disc returns the hard disk to the factory default. To create a backup of the recent state of the hard disk, refer to Hard Disk Backup/Restore Function.
Preparation
  • About usable types of discs and required numbers of discs, refer to the screen.
  • Prepare a USB DVD drive (optional) (refer to recent catalogs and other sources for information about the products available)
  • Connect the AC adaptor and do not remove it until the operation is complete.
  • Close all applications except for this utility.
CAUTION
- Do not perform the following operations until creating the recovery disc is complete.
  • Shut down or restart Windows.
  • Enter sleep and hibernation.
  1. Log on to Windows as an administrator.
  2. Connect the DVD drive to the USB port and set a disc into the DVD drive.
  3. Click  (Start) - [All Programs] - [Panasonic] - [Recovery Disc Creation Utility].
    If [User Account Control] is displayed, click [Yes].
  4. Click [Next].
  5. Select OS (32-bit or 64-bit).
  6. Click [Next].
  7. Select the disc type.
  8. Click [Next].
    Following on-screen instructions, prepare the required number of disc.
  9. When [Create recovery disc #1] is displayed, select [Write speed] and then click [OK].
  10. When [Recovery disc #1 complete.] is displayed, remove the disc and write contents of the disc on the label side.
    Do not use sharp objects that may leave a mark.
  11. Click [OK].
    Following on-screen instructions, remove or replace the disc.
  12. Click [OK] on [All recovery discs complete.] screen.
NOTE
- The disc created with this utility is only for this computer. You cannot use for others.
- Additional applications cannot be recovered even if you use a recovery disc created with this utility.
- If you interrupted creating a recovery disc, a message of failure may appear in step 9 screen above. In this case, create a new recovery disc again.
- You cannot successively create some recovery discs with this utility. If, however, the hard disc recovery is executed or OS is reinstalled from the created recovery disc, you can create a recovery disc again.
- If you fail to create a recovery disc or a error message appears, try either of the following procedures.
  • Insert the disc correctly.
  • Check the disc condition.
  • Restart the computer and try to create a recovery disc again.
  • Contact Panasonic Technical Support.
- When you reinstall OS using the recovery disc, OS which was selected at step 5 will be installed. To change OS from 32-bit to 64-bit, or vice versa, reinstall OS using the recovery partition in the hard disk. (refer toOPERATING INSTRUCTIONS “Reinstalling Software”)
