Recall Announcement Replacement of Battery Pack for Tablet-PC CF-H2 Series
and Optional Battery Pack for CF-H1,CF-H2 or CF-U1 Series

Dear Panasonic Toughbook Customers,

Thank you for using Panasonic Toughbook products.
We recently became aware of the fact that, due to a manufacturing condition, battery packs included with our Tablet-PC CF-H2 series manufactured from June, 2011 through September, 2013 and those sold separately or as a result of servicing may heat up abnormally and ignite in rare instance.


UPDATE : On May 28, 2014, we announced "CF-H2 series manufactured from June, 2011 through May, 2012"
And now we have extended period to "from June, 2011 through September, 2013" to make sure we can cover all of objects.
As of November 13, 2014, we have not found any incidents with CF-H2.
But, in order to prevent any accidents, Panasonic will replace the battery packs free of charge.

Please check the model number and lot number of your Tablet-PC and battery pack.
If you have a listed battery pack, turn your Tablet-PC off, remove the battery pack and contact us as indicated below.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and highly appreciate your understanding and cooperation.


The CF-VZSU53AW, CF-VZSU53AR and CF-VZSU53AQ battery pack has a shape identical to the battery packs for the CF-H1 and CF-U1 series, and it may also be in use with the CF-H1 or CF-U1 series. Please check the battery pack of your TOUGHBOOK CF-H1 or CF-U1 as well if you have ever replaced the battery pack.

If you ever replaced the battery your CF-H1 or CF-U1, please check that battery pack also.

2. Removing Your Battery Pack

Removal of battery packs

Shut down a your PC and remove the battery pack.

*Please note that there are two battery slots, one on each the left and right sides of the Tablet.

3. Battery Pack Model Number and Manufacturing Lot Number

See the battery pack nameplate.
Some battery packs do not need to be replaced even though your PC may be listed as an applicable model.
Battery packs of the below model number and manufacturing lot numbers must be replaced.
